Domestic Abuse Project Receives Aid from County Council

The Domestic Abuse Project received $25,000 from Delaware County Council recently.

Councilwoman Colleen P. Morrone (first from right) presented an allocation of $25,000 from to the Domestic Abuse Project to help the organization continue its services and support for victims of domestic violence and their children, which was accepted by (from left) President Mary V.Z. Wachterhauser and Executive Director Rita Buckley Connelly as well as Vice President Stephen H. Palmer (right).

The Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County was founded by volunteers in 1976 to respond directly to requests from victims of domestic violence for emergency assistance, protection and emotional support.

Joining in the presentation at the Feb. 29 council meeting were (second row, from left) Councilman John P. McBlain, Council Chairman Thomas J. McGarrigle and Vice Chairman Mario J. Civera Jr.
