Polls open at 7 a.m. and don’t close until 8 p.m. If you want to check on where

6:45 p.m. There were zero lines at Chatham Park Elementary School in Haverford Twp. Voters were in and out, in 10 minutes.

6:40 p.m. Messiah Lutheran Church, Newtown Twp (Precinct 2): 1,004 residents in Precinct 2 have voted thus far and 117 absentee ballots have been received. Total voter registration in this precinct is about 2,400, according to 2nd Precinct Committeeperson Leonard Altieri III.

5:40 p.m. Russell Elementary School, Marple Twp (Ward 6): As of 5:20 p.m., 1,500 Marple residents in Ward 6 have voted. There were approximately 300 votes by 8 a.m. and a 30-minute wait in the first hour when polls opened at this location. Commissioners President Michael Molinaro said voter turnout seems very similar to 2008. Approximately 75-100 absentee ballots have been received at Ward 6. According to Molinaro, voters in Ward 6 mean business: "They come in and out. The voting process is quick."

5 p.m. Record number of voters are being seen in Media Borough in the Western District (Media’s smallest district) where they received more than 550 voters so far, according to Media, Pa. News Blog.

4:30 p.m. 200 block of Lawrence Road, Marple Twp A two-vehicle accident occured just around 4 p.m. Driver tells police he was "on his way to vote" before rear ending into an SUV. There were three reported injuries. Read the full story here.

4:15 p.m. Marple Township Municipal Building (2nd Ward) In Marple Township's 2nd Ward, there has been a steady crowd since the polls opened this morning but a long line, out the door is expected during the last hour of voting.

4 p.m. In Marple Township's 2nd Ward, 1,063 votes had been cast at the township building. Approximately 50 percent of registered voters in Ward 2 have voted so far. There are 16,355 registered voters in Marple Township.

3:40 p.m.: St. Aloysius School (Radnor Twp. Ward 5) The 900th voter in this precinct was just announced. At Ithan Elementary School they are just over 900, too.

3:35 p.m.: Haverford Township Building, Haverford (Ward 3, District 1): According to the judge of elections at the township building, over a third of the registered district voters have already turned up. "We're pretty close to 2008 numbers," officials said.

3:32 p.m.: Llanerch Fire House, Havertown (Ward 2, District 1): Great turnout, election officals say. No lines, but voters are steady. More than 320 votes already recorded.

3:30 p.m.: United Presbyterian Church of Manoa, Haverford (Ward 1, District 1): Over 300 voters already cast. No lines, no issues. Several volunteer groups outside handing out campaign materials.

3:15 p.m. Gauntlett Community Center, Newtown Twp (Precinct 7) No lines, no problems at community center.

3:00 p.m. Villanova University A bus is leaving every hour in the hour taking students to polling locations. The bus appeared full.

2:30 p.m. Radnor High School My first experience this election of getting firmly kicked out of a polling room. Later I ran into voter Phil Brookman, who said he is “hoping and praying” that President Obama is re-elected. Why? “He’s a better person,” he said.

2:00 p.m. Radnor Elementary School (Ward 2) Witnessed some tense moments of a tiff between Republican and Democratic volunteers here over what they can and can not do when voters come in. Both sides were unhappy with what the other was doing.

2:00 p.m. Radnor Elementary School (Ward 2) Villanova University students do not seem to be appearing en masse from buses as they did in 2008. A Republican committeewoman said the precinct will not get the 1,600 voters it did four years ago.

1:34 p.m. St. Mary Magdalen Church, Upper Providence Twp (Fifth District) No lines at the church. As of 1:30 p.m., 777 residents have casted their votes.

1:00 p.m. Radnor Township building (Ward 3) About 800 people have voted in the precinct so far today. 7 to 9 a.m. was “nuts,” according to the minority inspector.

12:15 p.m. One woman from the 2nd Precinct in Newtown Township came out of Messiah Lutheran Church and said she waited in line for 30 minutes to vote.

12:11 p.m. According to Newtown Township Precinct 2 Republican Committeeman Leonard Altieri III, the lines have been long and steady. There were 25 people waiting in line as soon as the polls opened at 7 a.m. this morning. "People are excited here. We're getting a good turnout," said Altieri. Votes at 2nd Precinct (second largest in Newtown Township) look like they're leaning toward the Republican ticket, said Altieri. 

12:10 p.m. Paxon Hollow Middle School Band and Orchestra is holding a bake sale at the school's polling place.

12:10 p.m. This Marple Township official resident was the #334 vote.

12:08 p.m. Messiah Lutheran Church, Newtown Twp (Precinct 2): Long lines (which are split up by last name: A to L in one line and M-Z in another line) since this morning. As of noon there were 408 residents in this precinct who voted.

12:05 p.m. Paxon Hollow Middle School, Marple Twp (Ward 7): No lunch-time rush. 

11:39 a.m.: Upper Providence Twp Building: There is a slight line, but not a long wait.

11:20 a.m.: St. Mary’s Church, Wayne (Ward 3) Radnor commissioner Bill Spingler predicts that President Obama will win the precinct and Radnor Township votes. About 500 people have voted so far. Spingler predicts a 80-90 percent voter turnout there.

11 a.m. About 270 people have voted in the southern Media precinct, according to All Things Media Pa. Blog.

Note: Marple Township: There's a big bake sale happening at Loomis Elementary School. Voters can enjoy baked goods, pretzels and drinks as they wait to vote. They will be sold all day until they run out. The bake sale benefits the fifth-grade class.

Note: Radnor Township: Radnor Township is not ticketing in its North and South Wayne and Louella municipal lots because of the election.

9:45 a.m. Wayne Presbyterian Church (Radnor Ward 1) Republican volunteer Rich Booker says turnout and enthusiasm are lighter than 2008 at Wayne Presbyterian Church polling place, which represents what he says is a Democratic majority precinct. Around 9:45 a.m. there were nearly 200 votes cast there.

9 a.m.  Joe Hackett Jr., elected committeeman for the 2nd Ward 3rd Precinct of Ridley Township and son of Rep. Joe Hackett (R-Dist.-161), was out at the polls Tuesday morning and planned to be at his home polling place for all 13 hours that the polls were open.

Hackett Jr. was a friendly face to many of the voters that entered his precinct and greeted each with a smile and a hello. He isn’t officially on his father’s campaign but was definitely joining the family effort on Election Day.

"We’re expecting a good turnout for dad. It was great in 2010 and I think people are more fired up now. And dad’s liked by both sides so I think that helps us out, no matter what people do nationally,” Hackett Jr. said Tuesday morning. “I think as long as we keep working it, we’ll be OK. We have good people behind us, so I think we can get it done."

8:55 a.m. Steady amount of voters at Easter Seals in Middletown Twp. District 4, Precinct 2 but not like the morning rush where the line was wrapped around the lobby. Expect long lines at this polling place after dinner and until polls close at 8 p.m, at Republican committee person says.

8:55 a.m. Rep. Tom Killion casts his vote in his district at Easter Seals in Middletown Twp. District 4, Precinct 2

8:50 a.m. Rep. Tom Killion (R-168) says he's not too worried about today's election. "I've been involved for 30 years and have been serving in the community throughout that time," said Killion. Killion noted his challenger, Beth Alois, had worked hard on her campaign but has no doubts that he'll win today. 

8 a.m. Joe Hackett Jr., Rep. Joe Hackett's son, campaigns for his father outside his home polling place in Ridley. Hackett is the incumbent running for State Representative in the 161st District.

7:45 a.m. Larry DeMarco, running for State Representative in the 161st District, does some last minute campaigning outside his home polling place in Nether Providence Township.

7:30 a.m. State Sen. Dominic Pileggi (R-Dist. 9) casts his vote in Chester.

7:10 a.m. Loomis Elementary School (Marple Twp, Ward 4): There are about 20 people waiting in line outside the school. Expect about a 15-minute wait.

Poll workers may ask you for a valid photo ID but you are not required to present photo ID to vote in this election.

If you do not provide the requested ID, you will be given information on the requirements for voting in 2013.
