Media Borough Continues Discussion on 3rd St. Bridge, Recycling Pick Up

Discussion continues in Media Borough on the 3rd Street Bridge redesign and possible recycling collection change.

But it also will continue discussions of the and proposal for a change in recycling and trash collection. 

Earlier this year the borough approved a new trash/recycling collection contract with Mascaro. Mascaro is now proposing to collect recycling on one day throughout the entire borough rather than two days, each on different sides of the borough.

Media Borough Council President Pete Alyanakian said this discussion will continue after the Environmental Advisory Council reviews the request.

There will be a public hearing on Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. at borough hall regarding the 3rd Street bridge redesign project. Information regarding the budget will be posted on the borough website for the public’s review and all are welcome to attend the meeting.

Council member James Cunningham pointed out that the council and public have input but not complete control over the project.
