Media Borough Council Reappoints MBA Members

Media Borough Council made re-appointments to the Media Business Authority at its Thursday meeting.

Council reappointed five members but not every appointment was to a unanimous vote.

Councilman Kent Davidson said prior to voting that he would be basing his votes on participation and attendance at business authority meetings.

He said he was not in favor of re-appointing members who have not shown participation in at least half of the meetings.

Councilwoman Monika Rehoric said MBA members missing several meetings needs to be addressed and steps need to be taken to determine a level of committment.

"People need to step up, this is a business based authority," Rehoric said.

Councilman Dr. Eric Stein agreed that the MBA is not a trival committee and attendance needs to be addressed in the bylaws.

Borough Council voted to re-appoint the following members to the Media Business Authority:

Jonathon Schaffer in a 6-1 vote, with Davidson voting against.

Debbie Pitt in a 5-2 vote, with Davidson and Councilwoman Dawn Roe voting against.

Warren Kuo in a 4-3 vote, with Davidson, Roe and Rehoric voting against.

Peter Bendistis and Christopher Dougherty, both in a unanimous vote.
