Middletown Makes Committee Appointments; Launches New Web Site

The Middletown Township Council conducted regular business at its meeting Monday.

The made two new committee appointments at its meeting Monday night.

The council unanimously appointed Andrew Miller to the Library Board with a term ending in January 2011.

The council also unanimously appointed Mark Bradson to the planning commission with a term ending in January 2015.

In separate township news, Township Manager Bruce Clark announced that the township’s Web site recently got a facelift.

Clark said the site has a new format and new look and they are still making minor tweaks to the updates.

The site is more user friendly and shows pictures of the township as well.

All of the information on the former site has been pulled into the new site, Clark said.

"It’s more clear and easier to work through," he said.

The council also accepted an award on behalf of the township for the planning of the Rotham Institute at Riddle Memorial Hospital.

The William Bates Memorial Award was presented to council for the planning and architecture of the Rothman Institute building.

Councilman Lorraine Bradshaw said the building was designed to keep the parking in the back of the structure and keep greenery in the front. The building also has a rainwater garden and is considered to be an environmental friendly building.

Bradshaw said the building was planned with forward thinking in mind.
