Middletown Twp. Council Appoints Interim Member

Middletown Township Council appointed an interim member to council after a District 2 resignation earlier this year.

Council appointed an interim District 2 member to council at its Monday meeting, following the resignation of a council member earlier this year.

Council approved the appointment of Margaret "Peg" Amoroso to temporarily fill the vacant seat of

Amoroso, who has lived in the township for 26 years, has also served on the township's zoning hearing board as well as the planning commission, Middletown Council Chairman Scott Galloway said.

"Peg has big shoes to fill but we have no doubt she will do an excellent job," Galloway said.

Amoroso was sworn in to council, with her husband, Albert alongside her, and with her mother and sister sitting in the audience.

Amoroso will run in a special election during April's Primary Election to officially vie for Roger's vacant seat and fill out his term through Dec. 31, 2013.

Council unanimously approved the authorization of the special election.
