Wawa Traffic Discussion to Continue in November

Traffic will likely be the focus of the Nov. 7 workshop meeting discussion. A vote may come later in November.

Media Borough Council will continue its discussion regarding the proposed Wawa at Baltimore Avenue, Providence Road and State Street at its November meetings.

Media Borough Council President Brian Hall said the discussion, which will likely focus on traffic, will continue at council's workshop meeting on Nov. 7.

No vote will be taken at that meeting.

Hall said the borough's traffic engineer is expected to attend the meeting to answer questions and review the applicant's traffic studies. Traffic has been the largest concern regarding the project.

A vote on the preliminary land development plan may come at council's legislative meeting on Nov. 21.

Both meetings occur after the Nov. 5 General Election.

In July, Media Planning Commission voted 4-1 in support of preliminary plan approval and recommended that Media Borough Council approve the preliminary plan with several conditions.

On Oct. 3, Media Real Estate presented its plan for a proposed Wawa for the 14th time and traffic concerns were the focus of the meeting. Nether Providence Township residents, which borders the project, voiced the most concern over traffic at that meeting.
