Deja Vu Salon Wins 'Hairspray' Best Bouffant Contest

Deja Vu will celebrate at The Media Theatre on October 30 during the Hairspray Costume Night.

The votes are in and the Winner of The Media Theatre's Hairspray Best Bouffant Contest is....Deja Vu Salon of Media!

Stylist Alicia De Hart created a wonderful bouffant for model Allison Hayick that caused such a sensation, Deja Vu Salon received more votes from the public than the five 'runner-up' entries. Deja Vu will celebrate their win at The Media Theatre on Tuesday, Oct. 30 with 20 complimentary tickets to the Tony winning musical. Rachel Tarbutton was the photographer for the winning bouffant photo.

When Deja Vu received a phone call from The Media Theatre telling them of their win, the ladies of the salon burst into appreciative screams and applause, apparently very excited that their Bouffant topped the rest.

The night the salon attends Hairspray is also the show's Costume Night. Patrons for the show are invited to come see the production in their finest '60s garb, including big hair and Edna Turnblad-style drag. All tickets for "Hairspray" on Costume Night, Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. are $25.

"We look forward to everyone coming out to Hairspray the night before Halloween and celebrating with Deja Vu," said The Media Theatre's Executive Director Patrick Ward. "We appreciate them and all of the salons who participated in our Best Bouffant contest, and offer the $25 tickets as a special thank you to the salons and the region. Plus, it's the season to get into costumes and have a great time."

Based on John Waters' 1988 film, Hairspray the musical opened on Broadway in 2002 and won eight Tony awards.
