Delco Council Applauds Media Theatre's Broadway World Awards

Delaware County Council presented Artistic Director Jesse Cline with a resolution.

Delaware County Council honored The Media Theatre on Jan. 30, recognizing its achievements and its recent Broadway World Awards. The professional music theatre company’s Artistic Director Jesse Cline was presented with a resolution from the Council.

Council Member Dave White presented the resolution and stated, “One of our entertainment landmarks is The Media Theatre. Today, we are pleased to recognize the theatre for winning six Broadway World 'Best of Philadelphia' theatre awards for its productions in 2012.”

He continued, “County Council congratulates Artistic Director Jesse Cline, the theatre staff, the board and the actors for the awards from the national theatre website. The Media Theatre was up against theaters in Philadelphia and the southeastern region. The fact that it won six awards is remarkable and means that Delaware County has a professional music theater company offering the kind of quality theatre you find in a major city. The awards were for critically acclaimed productions that Jesse and his troupe were creative and bold enough to stage including Wings, Spring Awakening, and the Delaware County premiere of Hairspray.”
