Forever Young Concert at Media Theatre on Dec. 2

Fundraiser for the theatre's education programs features Delco Idol contestants and State Street Miracles.

The Media Theatre has a special fundraising concert just in time for the holidays on Sunday Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. Titled Forever Young as it is in support of The Media Theatre's educational and youth programs, the concert features 2012 Delco Idol Junior winner Gianni Palmarini as well as members of the Dr. Dolittle production.

Other Delco Idol performers who will appear in the fundraiser are Aidan Cole, Christopher Infantino, Lindsay Ronaldson and Katie Stecklair. Lauren Cupples, the first Delco Idol winner, will perform. She is currently portraying the role of Emma in Dr. Dolittle.

The State Street Miracles, a performance troupe of adults with developmental disabilities, will entertain. "We are happy to showcase a group such as the Miracles," said Media Theatre's Artistic Director Jesse Cline. "They are a part of our theatre family and as ambassadors for what it is we do which is music theatre they only strengthen our mission. They embody the joy, creativity, and diversity unique to music theatre."

Media's Denzel Thomas, who recently appeared in the popular musical Hairspray and the children's series production Three Little Pigs, will return to the stage during the concert. He has appeared in several of the theatre's productions for youth and is an alumni of its summer camp, so he is aware of the importance of supporting the mission of education.

"This theatre will always be a part of who I am," he said. "It's the best place around for young people who want to have a performance career."

This is the third holiday season during which The Media Theatre has presented a fundraiser for its educational and youth programs.

Cline explained, "The theme for 2012, Forever Young, is a reminder that all of us, no matter what our actual age, will always be young at heart and the holiday season is the time to remember that part of us. It assists us in looking forward to the future with hope any time of the year."
