Media Theatre Gets 12 Broadway World Nominations for 'Best Of' Philly Theatre

The Media Theatre has received 12 nominations in Broadway World's 2012 "Best Of" Philadelphia Theatre Awards, including Best Theatre Company.

The awards are presented annually by BroadwayWorld.com, as a premier voting system and ceremony honoring Philadelphia's Excellence in Theatre each year. All voting is done by the public in this world-wide award presentation. Each city receives its own rankings in similar categories. It is the largest polling and ranking system of its kind.

Broadway's legendary Tony nominee Andrea McArdle, who is returning to The Media Theatre this spring as "Mame", received a nomination in the Special Event category for her concert at Media's annual Gala this past February. Ann Crumb, also a Tony nominee, received a nomination as Best Actress in A Musical for her layered portrayal of a stroke victim in "Wings."

The Media Theatre's Artistic Director Jesse Cline was nominated for his direction of the somewhat controversial and stirring musical "Spring Awakening," and resident Music Director Tom Fosnocht received a nod for "Wings."
