State Street Miracles Inspire Audiences Across the Region

Ambassadors for The Media Theatre enter their seventh season of song.

The State Street Miracles, a performance troupe of adults with developmental disabilities, inspire audiences across the region with their renditions of songs like “Don’t Stop Believin," “We Are The World,” and “Getting To Know You.”

Since the fall of 2006, The Miracles have been rehearsing on Monday nights at Delaware County’s only professional music theatre. The troupe appreciates their position as ambassadors for The Media Theatre as they perform in special concerts on its stage—including the upcoming holiday concert on Sunday, December 2 at the theatre—and throughout the county at such locations as The Rose Tree Summer Festival and the Pennsylvania Special Olympics at Villanova University.

The Miracles have also performed several times at Delaware County Council meetings, at Elwyn, and several local organizations and clubs. They have been recognized by the State Senate during which they were given a standing ovation, and performed several times in the Rotunda at the State Capitol in Harrisburg.

The troupe is assisted with support from The Boeing Company, The Media Rotary Club, and The Genuardi Family Foundation. The mission of the State Street Miracles is to provide people with disabilities an outlet to express their musical and artistic talent while raising awareness in the community of the creative abilities of people who have a developmental disability.
