DELCO IDOL WINNER LAUREN CUPPLES IS THE NARRATOR IN MEDIA'S 'JOSEPH' MUSICAL

Lauren Cupples is no stranger to Media Theatre audiences. She has entertained hundreds---actually thousands as of this writing---of patrons with her performances in "The Sound of Music", "Dr. Dolittle", "Annie", and as the winning vocalist during the first year of "Delco Idol" almost a decade ago.

Now, Cupples allows her silky voice to be heard throughout "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" in the role of The Narrator. Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, which began its life in the late 1960's as an all-male cantata, utilizes The Narrator to guide audiences through the story of Joseph and his brothers from the book of Genesis.

Cupples is originally from Glenolden in Delaware County, but resides now (after a short stint in NYC) in Oxford. The Chester County resident studied philosophy at DeSalles University, but found herself longing to be a 'great communicator' on the stage. After her "Delco Idol" winning summer, she began to capitalize on her vocal and acting ability.

The Actors Equity Association member has performed in regional theatres from Arkansas to Florida as well as in the productions at The Media Theatre. At Media, she has been seen by over 35,000 patrons who attend the shows Media Music Theatre Company builds from the 'ground up'--meaning each production is designed specifically for The Media Theatre stage under the Artistic Direction of Jesse Cline.

The Media Music Theatre Company celebrates 20 years of professional music theatre at Media Theatre during its current season. What better time to see one of its premier performers, Lauren Cupples, as she sings about Joseph and his brothers?
