MEDIA THEATRE HAS 'SUNSET BOULEVARD' AUDITIONS FEB. 26 & 28

The Media Theatre, Jesse Cline, Artistic Director, located at 104 East State St in Media, is holding an EPA, Equity Performers Audition,  for its production of "Sunset Boulevard".

The Tony winning musical is Andrew Lloyd Webber's stage adaptation of Billy Wilder's legendary 1950's film.  The book and lyrics are by Don Black and Christopher Hampton. 

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, February  26  and Friday February 28 from Noon to 4pm at The Media Theatre,104 East State St, Media, PA. Jesse Cline directs the show.

"Sunset Boulevard" focuses on Norma Desmond, a faded star of the silent screen era. She lives in her mansion, remembering her glamorous past and hoping for a come back. She meets a young screenwriter and sees in him an opportunity to return to the big screen. TIME Magazine says the musical has "Lloyd Webber's most artfully constructed score."

Seeking the following roles: Norma Desmond understudy, 40-60, soprano, a faded, eccentric, silent movie film star and Joe Gillis, 25 to 40, bari-tenor, an attractive struggling screenwriter.


Also seeking Max Von Mayerling, 50-70, bass baritone, intense former husband and now butler of Norma;  Betty Schaeffer, 25 to 35, mezzo soprano, belt, an up and coming writer and Joes love interest; Artie Green, 35-40 , baritone, Betty’s fiancé; and Cecil B. Demille,  50-70, the legendary director.


Cline also seeks an ensemble to play various roles (actors, technicians, party guests, etc.)

Please prepare a song in the style of the show. Be prepared to move if asked. Music from the show is acceptable.
