MEDIA THEATRE WINS 12 BROADWAY WORLD AWARDS FOR 'BEST OF PHILLY THEATRE' 2013

The Media Theatre, Delaware County’s only professional music theatre company and one of the most popular theatres in the Philadelphia region, has won 12 Broadway World Awards for “Best of Philadelphia Theatre 2013” including Best Theatre Company, an honor it also achieved in 2012.

10 of the awards went to Artistic Director Jesse Cline’s critically acclaimed revival of the legendary musical “Mame” which starred Broadway’s Andrea McArdle. Both Cline, for his direction, and McArdle, for her performance, won in their categories. The production transferred to Bucks County Playhouse following its run in Media. The two other awards, in technical categories, went to the theatre’s recent production of “Monty Python’s Spamalot”.

All Broadway Series musicals at The Media Theatre are produced by Media Music Theatre Company (MMTC), a non-profit music professional music theatre organization now celebrating 20 years of musicals and children’s programming at the theatre. Its educational component has grown exponentially during the past decade and now includes ten weeks of summer camp, plus several levels of acting classes for children, teens, and adults.
