JoePa Funeral Schedule Set; PSU Brandywine to Live Stream Memorial

Funeral services and public memorials have been set for the former Penn State football coach. Penn State Brandywine will live stream the memorial service.

Funeral and public memorial services have been set for the former Penn State football coach who died over the weekend.

Joe Paterno, who died at the age of 85 after being diagnosed with lung cancer only months earlier, will be buried Wednesday in a private funeral service.

Three public memorial sessions have also been scheduled.

Tuesday from 1 to 11 p.m. and Wednesday 8 a.m. to noon, both at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on the Penn State main campus.

Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center, the basketball arena next to Beaver Stadium.

Local, Campus will also honor JoePa by offering a live stream of the public memorial service on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Commons Building Lion’s Den/Pit. All those who wish to observe the "Memorial for Joe" taking place at University Park are welcome to attend the local campus viewing.

Penn State Brandywine will not be live streaming the service on its website however, the public can watch the live stream at Big Ten Network, btn.com at 2 p.m. on Thursday. It will be on the homepage and available for free to the public.

Penn State Brandywine students speak about the winningest coach's passing and say he is the reason many attended Penn State, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.

Gov. Tom Corbett has ordered all Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities statewide to fly at half staff through sunset on Thursday, Jan. 26, to honor Paterno.

According to a press release, all Pennsylvanians are invited to join in this tribute.
