Rose Tree Media School District announced Tuesday night that all the schools in the district would see a two-hour delay Wednesday, Oct. 31 with the exception of Penncrest High School, which will be closed.
Penncrest staff and students will not have school Oct. 31 due to a power outage at the building.
Media Patch reported that a large tree had brought down wires on Barren Road right near the high school on Tuesday. The wires were seen to be smoking and PECO was blocking the roadway at about 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
All other Rose Tree Media schools are on a two hour delay Wednesday, with staff reporting at their normal start time.
There is also a modified Kindergarten schedule. Morning Kindergarten: 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. and Afternoon Kindergarten: 1:35 to 3:30 p.m. All staff should report at regular time.
School Halloween festivities are being handled on a building by building basis, check your schools website for specifics.
If your street is blocked by downed trees or wires, please escort your child to the best accessible spot closest to your regular bus stop.
If you are in doubt, call the district transportation department at 610-627-6475. There will be someone in the transportation department by 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 31.
