RTM School Board Approves Staff Retirements

The Rose Tree Media School Board approved the retirement of a few staff members in the district at its meeting Thursday.

Dr. Susan Evans, assistant principal at Penncrest High School, will retire on Sept. 30.

Evans joined the district in 1971 and will retire after 40 years of service.

The board thanked Evans and said she may be the most dedicated person in the district.

Board member Bill O’Donnell thanked Evans for her years of hard work in the district.

"I don’t know if I’ll be able to get through graduation without her assistance," he said. "She’s kind of the queen bee of graduation."

Board member John Hanna said Evans was always available to help and is very knowledgeable.

"She was a great help at graduation. I don’t know what we’ll do next year," Hanna said.

Board Vice President Nancy Fronduti thanked Evans for her years of service and wished her the best as she begins this new chapter in her life.

Evans also was instrumental in the foreign language programs in the district, the board said, and they thanked her for that as well.

Evans was not in attendance at the meeting. 

Matthew Soares, a cafeteria worker at Penncrest High School, also resigned as of June 17.

Walter Noldy, a tradesmen, will retire effective August 5. Noldy has served the district since 1993 and will retire after 18 years of service.
