Years in the Industry:  35 years within the Rose Tree Media School District

Teaching History:

Shapero earned her undergraduate and graduate degree from West Chester University and she is certified and has taught physical education at all grade levels. She also is a graduate of Penncrest High School and her children are products of the Rose Tree Media School District, as well.

What do you like most about your job:

My students. I love the elementary level, they have a natural enthusiasm. And it's their favorite class, well at least I'm in the Top 3 with recess and lunch. But I've never been bored. Every year is different and there's never a dull moment. I like it more now than I did in the beginning. I still get up and want to come to school.

Why did you become a teacher:

I was inspired by some of my teachers and I wanted to coach and teach. I got to fulfill my life's ambitions and I was able to have kids at the same time.

What do you like best about your current school:

I like the staff, the principal and everyone who works here and the families. I mentor student teachers from West Chester University too and it allows me to work with them and influence future teachers. It's a positive experience and the students enjoy it.
