Whooping Cough Confirmed at Springton Lake MS
One case of whooping cough or pertussis was confirmed at Springton Lake Middle School, Rose Tree Media School District announced recently.

RTM Superintendent James Wigo confirmed the diagnosis at the Oct. 27 school district meeting.
"I'm starting to feel as though I'm the messenger of doom.…every Friday I'm announcing some sort of medical emergency or pestilence. Springton Lake Middle School received medical confirmation of a single case of pertussis in a 6th grade student. It's a highly contagious condition," Wigo said at the meeting.

According to the Delaware County News Network, the district responded immediately and informed district parents and private school parents who may have had contact with Springton Lake students.
