Widener University Announces Graduates

The residents listed below earned their associate's, bachelor's, master's or doctoral degrees from Widener University during the annual Commencement Ceremony on May 12. The university presented degrees to August 2011, December 2011 and May 2012 graduates during the ceremony.

Widener University's 2012 Honors Week

The following students were recognized as members of Phi Kappa Phi, the national honors society:

Cheri Lay of Media, who is pursuing a Nursing degree.

Mary Aruffo of Media, who is pursuing an Organizational Behavior Studies degree.

Lindsay Krakower of Media, who is pursuing an Accounting degree.

Egesta Zaimaj of Media, who is pursuing a Liberal Arts/Humanities degree.

Stephen Magliano of Media, who is pursuing an Education degree.

These students are among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest and most selective all-discipline honor society. The Society has chapters on nearly 300 campuses in the United States, Puerto Rico and the Philippines.

Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is by invitation and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors, having at least 72 semester hours, are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

The following students were named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Widener University. The Dean's List recognizes full-time students who earned a grade point average of 3.50 and above for the semester.
