From the opening face-off to the final buzzer Garnet Valley's skating Jaguars were just too much for Penncrest's Lions who were out-skated and out-shot all game long. The Jaguars scored their first goal with 3 minutes and 24 seconds left in the first period. Up to that point it looked like Penncrest could hold its own as it managed to stop numerous shots on goal. But the second period began to be a different story. The Jaguars scored just 30 seconds into the period. That was followed by four more goals unanswered by Penncrest. The second period ended with Garnet Valley ahead 5-0.Â
The Lions' defense was no better in the third period with the Jaguars scoring five more goals, but the Lion showed some fight with two hard won goals being scored. Those goals, which were the only Penncrest goals, were made by Gabriel Chuckran who was the bulwark of the Lions' third period offense. If there had been two Chuckran's on the ice, the game might have ended differently.
