Penncrest Swimmers Beat School Records

Three Penncrest swimmers were recently honored by the Rose Tree Media Board of School Directors.

The Penncrest boys and girls swim teams were recently honored at the Rose Tree Media Board of School Directors meeting.

Penncrest Swimming State Qualifier Mary Kate Boylan placed 24th in the State Championship at Bucknell in the 50 Free with a time of 24.7 seconds, according to Director of Athletics Chip Olinger.

Boylan, a junior, took a fourth place medal in the 50 Free at the District Championship with a Penncrest record time of 24.43 seconds, according to Olinger.

Boylan earned a gold medal for both the 50 Free and 100 free at the Central League Championships.

Penncrest Swimming State Qualifier Phil Nawn placed 24th in the IM and 17th in the 500 Free with a Penncrest record of 4:42.02 at the State Championship, according to Olinger.

Nawn, a sophomore, took sixth place in the 200 IM and the fourth place medal and school record of 4:42.31 in the 500 Free. He took 14th place and a school record as a member of the 400 Free Relay at the District Championships, according to Olinger.

Nawn placed fourth in the 200 medley relay, third in the 400 free relay, third in the 200 IM and fourth in the 500 free at the Central League Champs.

Penncrest Swimming State Qualifier Iago Dall Orto placed 20th with a Penncrest record time of 52.55 in the 100 Backstroke at the State Championship, according to Olinger.

The senior took 15th place in the 200 IM, eighth in the 100 backstroke and 14th in the 400 free relay at the District Championship.

At the Central League Championship, Orto took second place in the 100 backstroke and 200 IM, third place in the 400 Free Relay and fourth place in the 200 Medley Relay, according to Olinger.
