Fourth of July Celebrations Without Fireworks

Not a fan of fireworks? Events all over the Greater Philadelphia area celebrate Independence Day without them.

Pull out your red, white, and blue.

There are many local events for residents of all ages to mark down on your calendars as the nation approaches its 236th birthday next Wednesday.

The Wawa Welcome America! festival will provide plenty of activities in our nation's birthplace, starting June 26 and wrapping up on July 4 with a free concert and fireworks finale at Philadelphia Museum of Art. (Check out the full schedule by clicking the link.)

However, as our schedule shows, celebrating America's freedom can involve much more than just pyrotechnics.

Here are the details of the area's variety of Fourth of July celebrations. (Check back Wednesday for a list of area fireworks displays.)
