Dogs and their owners can be seen walking the streets of Media borough all the time and now there is an opportunity to take a break from your stroll and dine with your dog.
In honor of dog-lovers, on Olive Street will host bring-your-dog-to-dinner nights every Monday, starting May 21, from 5 to 9:30 p.m.
Weather permitting, dog-owning residents are encouraged to come out to dine under the stars with their favorite canine friend. Ten percent of the proceeds of dog diners will be donated to local lifesaving animal welfare organizations, the and Animal Rescue Foundation of SE PA (ARF SEPA).
Each doggy diner will enjoy chicken stock rice, a water bowl and a treat for dessert from the neighboring downtown Media while their family enjoys dinner.
At the weekly event, which will run through the fine-weather months with the exception of holidays Memorial Day and Labor Day, residents can drop off donations from the “wish list” of both animal welfare organizations, which can be viewed at www.delcospca.org/donations and www.arfsepa.com/help_donate.html. Items on the wish lists can include anything from treats to collars, toys and litter pans to cleaning products, everything helps.
Reservations are suggested but not required. On occasional Monday nights, Delco SPCA and ARF SEPA will have furry friends available for adoption that will stop by to say hello to the doggy diners and their families.
