Carriage Rides, Deer Hunts Begin in the Week Ahead

What's going on this week in the greater Media area? Here's what we found but be sure to add anything we may have missed in the comments below.

  • Carriage rides begin this week through the streets of downtown Media. The carriage rides will be the first three Wednesdays in December from 6-9 p.m. in front of the Delaware County Courthouse. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10.
  • Deer hunts are scheduled in Ridley Creek State Park starting Dec. 5 through Dec. 12, in an effort to control the deer population.
  • Winter Fantasy Chorus at 7 p.m. on Dec. 4 at the Delaware County Courthouse: 80 elementary school singers from across the county will sing and ring in the holiday season.
  • Rose Tree Media Board of School Directors re-organization and committee meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 3. 
  • Media Borough Planning Commission at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 3. The Comprehensive Plan goals and objectives will be reviewed. Find the full agenda here
  • Media Borough Council workshop meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 5. 
  • Middletown Township Council committee meeting at 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 2. Find the full agenda here
  • Paws for Reading at 6:45 p.m. on Dec. 4 at Media-Upper Providence Library. For ages 5-11. Children can read aloud to a therapy dog in order to improve reading and communication skills making them feel comfortable and confident—while having fun. Registration required: 610-566-1918.
  • Area 1 Recycling Collection in Middletown Township on Dec. 4, 5, 6 
  • Ornament decorating at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 5 at Media-Upper Providence Library. Registration is required. 
  • Lego Club at 1 p.m. on Dec. 6 at Middletown Free Library. No registration required. For all ages. 
  • The Festival of Lights at Rose Tree Park runs every evening beginning at 5:30 p.m.

  • Psychic Tuesday with Vee at 7 p.m. at Stephen's on State on Dec. 3
