Howl-o-Weekend at Delco SPCA

Adoptable cats and dogs will dress up in Halloween costumes.

This weekend starts “Howl-O-Week” at the Delco SPCA.

At 10 a.m. on Saturday, adoptable cats and dogs will dress up in Halloween costumes and walk a parade up and down the Adoption Center’s grounds (cameras welcome and encouraged!)

From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, families are invited to bring their children to the Center for trick-or-treat stations in the cat and dog kennels and enjoy a bake sale with cider and hot cocoa. Trick-or-treat stations will also be open on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Adoption specials include Pick Your Price adoption fees on all pets homeless 30+ days and “lucky” black animals will have a waived adoption fees.

For those not looking to add a pet to their families, the Delco SPCA will be running a Click-or-Treating Halloween Hounds and Costume Cats Photo Contest on their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/DelcoSPCA) starting on Saturday, through Halloween. Pet owners are encouraged to dress their pets up and submit one photo per pet to jcalgiano@delcospca.org. Fans will then vote for their favorites with the click of the "Like" button. The owner of the picture with the most Likes will receive a copy of the Delco SPCA’s 2014 calendar and an ADOPT car magnet.

The Delco SPCA Adoption Center is located at 555 Sandy Bank Road in Media and open 7 days a week for adoptions. For more information or to view most of the animals available for adoption, visit www.delcospca.org.
