U2 Tribute Band, Art Exhibit Among Weekend Events [Get Out]

It's a busy week and weekend in and around Media Patch. See what's going on.

There are lots of things happening this weekend. It's a weekend full of community events. The Rose Tree Park Summer Concert Series continues with a U2 tribute band. Indulge in some frozen yogurt at Menchie's grand opening in Broomall and check out a tour of a cemetery, too.

  • When: Sunday, June 30, from 2 to 4 p.m. 
  • Where: 414 Plush Mill Road, Wallingford
  • Why Go: The annual Member’s Exhibit runs through Aug. 2 and the public is invited to the opening reception. The exhibit will feature artwork in drawing, watercolor, oil/acrylic, mixed media, photography, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, jewelry/metals and digital.
  • Cost: Free

Menchie's Frozen Yogurt Grand Opening

  • When: Saturday, June 29
  • Where: Lawrence Park Shopping Center, 1991 Sproul Road, Broomall
  • Why Go: Broomall's newest frozen yogurt shop will host its grand opening celebration with free yogurt from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will also be giveaways and games for the kids and plenty of frozen yogurt.

Christmas in July Sale

  • When: Monday, July 1 at 10 a.m. 
  • Where: Surrey Thrift Shop, 455 Park Way, Broomall
  • Why Go: Check out the great deals on the entire shop. The deals will be so good, it's like Christmas!
  • Cost: Proceeds benefit seniors in the community

Concert for Summer Holiday

  • When: Sunday, June 30, at 2 p.m.
  • Where: St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 400 Lynbrooke Rd, Springfield
  • Why Go: Enjoy music by featured musician R. Bruce Todd, celebrate the newly rebuilt pipe organ and indulge in the "red, white and blue" ice cream social, all while benefiting the Silver Springs–Martin Luther School. 

Historic Montgomery Cemetery Tour

  • When: Sunday, June 30, at 2 p.m.
  • Where: 1 Hartranft Avenue in Norristown
  • Why Go: Established in 1847, the cemetery is the final resting place of more than 400 veterans, including five Civil War Generals. The tours will highlight stories of Montgomery County citizens from all walks of life.
