Viso's Offers Specialty Desserts

The newest dessert shop in Media Borough will hold its grand opening on Nov. 10 with a ribbon cutting and $1 cannoli special.

Viso's cakes, cannolis and cookies have been filling bellies since the 1920s and now the family's fourth generation will soon open its newest location in Media Borough. Viso's Authentic Italian Desserts is located 23 S. Jackson Street, at the former Four Paws Shop, near Koffee Korner. The dessert shop is currently open for business but still putting a few finishing touches on the place before the official Nov. 10 grand opening. Co-owner Donna Viso says the grand opening will include a ribbon cutting, live music and a $1 cannoli special. Donna Viso's great-grandfather opened his first shop in South Philadelphia soon after arriving here from Italy in the 1920s. New Bakery Opens in Media

Sinfully Delicious Bakery opened recently on Monroe Street in Media Borough.

Sinfully Delicious Bakery opened its second location on Monroe Street in Media Borough recently. Owners Tammy Murray along with chef Andrew Neide brought their baked goods from Brookhaven to Media and officialy opened their delicious doors on Dec. 9. They bakery offers every sugary baked treat you could imagine, from cookies and cakes to raspberry twists, pies, pastries and coffee. They also do wedding cakes. The only thing they don't do is donuts. But who needs a donut when you can have an apple strudel. If you want to learn how to bake or decorate like a pro, Neide offers baking classes, like cake decorating 101 or how to make a gingerbread house.
