Help Identify Sovereign Bank Robber

Arrests in several separate bank robberies were recently made, however, an October robbery case remains open, police say.

The Media Police Department continues to investigate an October bank robbery. Recently, an arrest in several separate bank robberies was made but a robbery that occurred at about 10:46 a.m. on Oct. 22 at the Sovereign Bank at 125 S. Providence Road in Media, remains open. The Sovereign Bank bank robber is described as a black man between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet with a heavy build and a slight goatee, according to Media Police Chief Marty Wusinich.  The man was last seen wearing a tan work-type jacket, dark pants, and a black baseball hat with a flat brim, according to Wusinich. So far, attempts to identify the man have been unsuccessful, according to Wusinich. Anyone with information is asked to contact Media Borough Police at 610-565-6656 or…

Police Make Arrest in 8 Bank Robberies

A 37-year-old Camden man robbed branches in Pennsylvania and Delaware over about four months, police say.

A New Jersey man was arrested and charged in connection with several bank robberies, including two in Media Borough, according to the Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks.  George Raymond Myers, 37, of Camden, was charged in Pennsylvania with four counts of robbery and other related charges in District Court 32-2-49. He was also charged with four counts of robbery in Delaware. Surveillance video and still photos showed the same man robbing four banks in Pennsylvania and four banks in Delaware, between Oct. 30, 2012 and Feb. 21, 2013, according to State Police. Myers was taken into custody after a bank robbery in Delaware on Feb. 21 and subsequently charged with three additional bank robberies in Delaware, according to State Police. …

FBI, Media Police Investigate Bank Robbery

A man robbed a Media Borough bank Wednesday afternoon.

Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Media Borough on Wednesday afternoon. A black man entered the First Cornerstone Bank, located at 2 W. Baltimore Pike in Media, at about 1:05 p.m. Wednesday and demanded money. The man approached two separate tellers and in a calm voiced announced a robbery and told the tellers to empty their bank drawers, according to Media Police Chief Marty Wusinich. The man then calmly left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen on foot heading South on Plum Street towards Jefferson Street, according to Wusinich.
