Construction on New Middletown Chick-fil-a Continues

Construction on the new Chick-fil-a on Baltimore Pike in Middletown Township continues.

Middletown Township will soon host a new Chick-fil-a restaurant. Construction on the building has begun at the Baltimore Pike location. Middletown Township Council approved the new fast food restaurant almost a year ago, in March 2011. The restaurant is located at the former Taco Bell/KFC location near Pennell Road. In March, Patch reported that the restaurant was projected to open in November but that deadline clearly has passed. According to the Chick-fil-a website, the Lima location is scheduled to open on May 3, which has been pushed back from the original April 19 projected open date.

A new fast food restaurant will be making an application to the zoning hearing board later this month to replace a now abandoned fast food restaurant. Chick-fil-A restaurant will be making its first application to the zoning hearing board to demolish and replace the former Taco Bell/KFC building on Route 1 and Route 452. Township Manager Bruce Clark said at the Middletown Township Council Meeting Monday night that the application will go before the zoning board first, then the planning board and then go before the township council. So there won’t be any waffle fries in Middletown Township any time soon. Clark said Chick-fil-A will be making several requests in its application. They would like to replace the existing building and move it …
