Sassy Girl Resale Boutique Comes to State Street

The women's clothing consignment shop, formerly located on Pennell Road, opened in downtown Media on July 14.

After 23 years with State Farm Insurance, Kimberly Shields decided to pursue her dream of owning her own business. The product of her pursuit was Sassy Girl Resale Boutique, a consignment store offering a large selection of women's attire. "I decided on a consignment shop because with the economy, this is how more and more people are shopping. It's nice clothing but it's also very affordable," said Shields. However, the original Pennell Road location didn't feel right for the ambitious owner with a very specific vision. "It wasn't built to be a retail facility, so it was tough to drive people in," Shields said. "For many, getting in and out of the location was a deterrent."
