Diego's Cantina and Tequila Bar held a soft opening Tuesday and is expected to open this week. Diego's is located at the former Coffee Club location on State Street in Media Borough. After much renovation and transformation, owner Loic Barnieu held a soft opening Tuesday night. Media Patch got a sneak peak as the restauranteur finished up the decor and trained his new employees earlier in the week. Spasso Italian Grill is also expected to open to the public this week.
Hungry people anxiously await the opening of Diego's and Spasso on State Street in Media.
The Media Patch community is anxiously awaiting the opening of two, new State Street restaurants in Media Borough. Both Diego's Cantina and Tequila Bar and Spasso Italian Grill were projected to open in March but it looks like they each needed a little more time before ringing that dinner bell. According to All Things Media, Pa. Blog, Spasso will host a sneak preview to invited guests this week. So it should be open to the public any day now. The new Mexican restaurant setting up shop on State Street in the former Coffee Club location is projected to open in March. A chef has been hired for the new Diego's Cantina and Tequila Bar and renovations have been running smoothly, Owner Loic Barnieu—also chef and owner of Picasso and La Belle Epoque—says. Barnieu says now that a chef, who hasn't yet left his Philadelphia restaurant job so his name was not yet been released, has been hired, they are currently working on the menu. Painting and flooring should be finished up in the next few weeks and the major renovations should be completed in about two weeks, Barnieu says. Then it's on to the appliances and the details.
