Thanks for another nice spotlight on a local teacher. It's great to recognize them and hear from them. Thanks to Tracey Fritch for all that you do! It's true that readers are leaders, and leaders are readers. What a shock (sarcasm), another teacher that wants less data (i.e. testing) and more teaching. Can I join your club? Can my kids?!? Please, stop the insanity. Great suggestion from Clayt …   more ›

Local Teen Donates Painting to Media Elementary

Alex Rehoric, of Media, donated a painting he created to Media Elementary recently.

Alex Rehoric, of Media, donated a painting he created to Media Elementary School to brighten the school's temporary halls. The hand-painted, wooden painting has the flag of each country across the globe depicted and arranged alphabetically. Rehoric, who is a freshman at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, created the painting when he was a sophomore at Penncrest High School for an art project. It took about two and half months to complete. The painting was rediscovered in Rehoric's attic recently and he decided he should donate it to his former elementary school. "I thought it would be cool to be an alum and have them put up my art work," Rehoric said. Media Elementary School Principal Maria Kotch, who was Rehoric's principal …

Looks terrific...if Alex would permit the painting could be digitally printed and sold to cover the cost of Media School's repairs...or almost. And besides our town of Media does have that "international" designation as I recall. Nice work Alex and best for a bright future. C. O'Neill   more ›
