Chrome Hair Salon Best New 2012 Business

The Upper Providence Township hair salon was voted Media Patch's best new business in 2012.

Media Patch polled readers to find the best new business in 2012 and after five days of voting, the winner is clear (or should we say silver). The idea of owning and operating their own hair salon had been in the works for about five years, the husband and wife team say, but once plans were put in place the idea turned into a reality pretty quickly. They signed a lease on their Providence Road location, did a full renovation and a month later, Chrome was open for…

My 3 Sons Serves Up First Hot Dogs

Media Borough's newest hot dog joint officially opened for business on Saturday.

The hot dogs are on their buns and My Three Sons Hot Dogs and Beer Emporium in Media Borough is officially open for business. The doors to State Street's newest eatery opened Saturday afternoon and there was a steady stream of hungry people walking through the doors immediately. Cindy and Carl Vairo, of Middletown, enjoyed the Jayhawker Dog and the vegan dog and both were delicious, the couple said.  My Three Sons Manager Mike Joslin said before noon on Saturday more than a dozen people had ordered the first dogs of the day. Joslin said when Owner Steven Gariffo approached him with the concept for My Three Sons, he was immediately onboard. "It's been a lot of hard work but I think it's going to be really successful," Joslin said. "It's …

My 3 Sons Hot Dogs to Open Saturday

The hot dog and beer emporium on West State Street will officially open for business on Dec. 15.

UPDATE: The opening of My Three Sons has been pushed back to next Saturday, Dec. 22. The owner apologizes for the postponement but it will be worth the wait for a tasty dog.   As details, decor, inspections and menus are finalized at My Three Sons Hot Dogs and Beer Emporium, owner Steven Gariffo could not be more excited to open Media Borough's newest restaurant. Double Edge Sports Grille Opens in Edgmont

The new restaurant will host a grand opening on Jan. 12.

Double Edge Sports Grille, located at the former Winner's Circle in Marville Shopping Center in Edgmont Township, is open for business. The new restaurant opened the Wednesday before Thanksgiving but will host its grand opening celebration on Jan. 12. Owner and Manager Chris Knight says they wanted to wait until after the holidays to truly celebrate the opening. Four new owners, from both Delaware and Chester counties, took over the sports-themed bar and grille and took about three weeks to renovate and upgrade the facility. There is new flooring and paint throughout the restaurant, the bathrooms were completely renovated, new booth seating was added but the sport's decor remains a staple with walls of flat screen TVs, sports memorabilia …

Chrome Hair Salon Hosts Open House Monday

Upper Providence Township's newest hair salon officially opens for business on Tuesday.

After about 15 years in the hair salon business, Upper Providence Township residents Becky and Johnny Chambers, decided it was time to take the next step and open their own salon. Chrome Salon will host an Open House for anyone to stop in and say hello on Monday, Nov. 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. Then on Tuesday, they are officially open for business and ready to cut hair. The idea of owning and operating their own hair salon had been in the works for about five years, the Chambers say, but once plans were put in place the idea turned into a reality pretty quickly. "We wanted to take the next step and do our own thing," Becky Chambers says. "So we made the jump." The husband and wife team wanted to open a Paul Mitchell signature salon, meaning they…
