Upgraded Media Parking Meters to be Installed

The State Street parking meters will soon accept credit cards.

New parking meters, which will allow for credit card payments, will be installed along State Street in Media Borough this week. The 50 meters, from Monroe to Orange streets, will be installed between Tuesday and Friday. Parking will not be disrupted during the installation. Coins, credit cards or borough parking meter debit cards will be accepted payments at the new meters. Media Borough Council announced the upgrade in September and Councilman Dr. Eric Stein said that if the credit card meters are successful, a second phase will be implemented and more upgraded meters would be installed. The parking meter debit cards, which look like any gift card or credit card, are offered by the Media Business Authority and can be purchased at Borough …

I presume there will be a meter at the borough hall to use while we are inside "recharging" our parking-meter-card. Hopefully this "research" will not last as long as the third-street-debacle...   more ›

Upgraded Media Parking Meters to Accept Credit Cards

Media Borough Council approved the purchase of upgraded parking meter that would permit the use of credit card payments.

Media Borough Council approved the purchase of upgraded parking meters that would permit the use of credit card payments. Councilman Dr. Eric Stein said the 50 upgraded meters would be the first phase of the credit card payment meters. The meters would mostly line State Street since it is a high volume area.  If the credit card meters are successful, a second phase will be implemented and more upgraded meters would be installed.
