Democrat Bob Casey is Media Patch's choice in U.S. Senate and Republican Pat Meehan for U.S. House of Representatives in Pennsylvania 7th Congressional District.
Voters in the Media Patch area were split in their votes for President of the United States. Nationally and in Pennsylvania, President Barack Obama was re-elected to a second term but here in Media Patch the votes weren't so simple. Media Borough and Upper Providence Township voted to re-elect Obama but Middletown and Edgmont townships voted for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney as their pick for President in the November election. (All four of these municipalities had 100 percent of machines reporting by 1:30 p.m. Wednesday). Delaware County, which has a large Republican population, voted to re-elect Obama with 165,206 votes, compared to Romney's 105,450. Note: As of 3 p.m. Wednesday, all 861 machines in Delaware County …

Republican Incumbent Congressman Pat Meehan of Drexel Hill (Upper Darby) (R-PA7) easily defeated Democrat Challenger George Badey of Radnor to win a second term in the U.S. House Tuesday. Meehan held an nearly 2 to 1 margin in Delaware County to retain the seat he won during the historic GOP victories of the 2010 Obama mid-term elections. The Republican momentum was not with the national GOP Tuesday night, prompting one top Meehan Campaign official to call his victory as "at least one bright spot in an otherwise disappointing night." Republican State Rep. Joe Hackett has been re-elected to a second term serving the 161th District, beating out Democratic challenger Larry DeMarco. Hackett won the 161th District State House race with 17,125 votes against DeMarco's 15,256 votes with 100 percent of Delaware County polls reporting by Wednesday afternoon. Hackett thanked local residents for their support at the polls. "I want to thank my supporters who worked so hard during the course of this campaign," Hackett said in a press release. "So many people did so much to help make my victory possible and I greatly appreciate all of their time and hard work." Pennsylvania Senator Dominic Pileggi, the Republican Incumbent, takes the 9th District win over Democratic challenger Patricia Worrell. Pileggi won the 9th District State Senate race with 69,238 votes against Worrell's 56,030 votes, with 100 percent of Delaware and Chester counties polls reporting by Wednesday afternoon. Election Day brought problems at polls in several areas of eastern Pennsylvania
EASTERN PA — Several reports of voting irregularities in Eastern Pennsylvania emerged on Tuesday, the day of the presidential election. In Easton, signs appeared offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to voter fraud convictions. A constable for Easton’s 10th ward removed one such sign staked into the ground after consulting with an elections attorney on site. The Pennsylvania Commercial Action Network, the same group that posted “Replace ObamaCare” billboards around the state, made the signs. ID Requests Many Easton voters also reported poll workers asking for their IDs, even though IDs are not required for this election cycle under the law. Pennsylvania helped President Barack Obama win re-election as U.S. Sen. Bob Casey fended off a feisty challenge from Republican coal magnate Tom Smith in what turned out to be a big night for Democrats in the Keystone State. Democrats held the lead in three state row office races as of 2:30 a.m. Wednesday with close to 98 percent of the vote in, according to unofficial results. Kathleen Kane, a former assistant district attorney from Lackawanna County, made history by becoming the first Democrat and first woman to be elected as the state's attorney general.
