Double Decker Pizza Gets Liquor License

The liquor license transfer was approved with a few conditions.

Media Borough Council unanimously approved the transfer of a liquor license to Double Decker Pizza at its meeting on Thursday.

Double Decker opened its fourth location on Baltimore Avenue in Media in September.

The liquor license transfer was approved with a few conditions, which included:

  • Serving only beer and wine
  • Compliance with the borough recycling ordinance
  • No alcohol signage or advertisements in the restaurant windows
  • 35/65 split in sales of alcohol to food respectively, which the borough can audit and pull the license if not in compliance.
Double Decker Co-owner Dimitri Gianneas was at Thursday's Borough Council meeting and thanked council following the vote.

The family-owned restaurant offers pizza, stromboli, wings, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, salads and now beer and wine. The upstairs dining area is available for private parties and the front counter offers diners a convenient WiFi and charging station.
