Man Hid Weapons, Cash From Homicide, Police Say

A Middletown Township man hid evidence related to a Lancaster County homicide, police say.

A Middletown Township man was recently charged in connection with hiding evidence and receiving stolen property allegedly involved with a Lancaster County homicide, according to State Police-Media Barracks.

Emlyn Lucas Jones, 24, was charged with felony counts of aiding consummation of crime, hindering apprehension or prosecution and receiving stolen property on May 20.

State Police-Lancaster Barracks are investigating a homicide that occurred in Lancaster County on Aug. 17, 2012 and resulted in the arrests of Kyle Wunder, Cody Wunder and Stephen Harmer on homicide and related charges, according to State Police. The three are scheduled to go on trial Aug. 1 in Lancaster County.

Jones participated in concealing a shotgun and prybar allegedly used in the homicide and received between $55,000 and $65,000 of the proceeds from the robbery homicide, according to State Police.

According to the Delaware County Daily Times, Jones allowed Kyle Wunder to bury a shotgun on his Middletown property, toss a prybar into a stream, dispose of a safe and hide a large sum of money in the garage of his home.

Jones told investigators he spent much of the hidden money however not all of it because it burned in a house fire at his home on Howarth Road in March, according to the Delco Times.

Jones was taken into custody on May 21 without incident. He was remanded to the county prison in lieu of posting 10 percent of $150,000 bail.

Kyle Wunder, Cody Wunder and Harmer are charged with the killing of Douglas C. Herr, 62. The three allegedly shot their way into Herr’s home in Drumore Township and shot a padlock off a safe that contained more than $200,000 before shooting Herr, according to the Delco Times.
