Pedestrian Struck in 2 Vehicle Crash, Police Say

The pedestrian, who had been working on a sign on the shoulder of the roadway, sustained moderate injuries, police say.

A pedestrian sustained moderate injuries in a two vehicle crash on Wednesday, according to Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks. 

A black BMW, driven by a 30-year-old Newtown Square woman, was traveling northbound on Route 1 in Middletown Township at about 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, according to State Police. 

The BMW made a left onto Valley Road in front of a Ford Sterling truck, driven by a 41-year-old Lititz, Pa. man, who was traveling south on Route 1, according to State Police. 

The two vehicles collided head on and the truck went onto the shoulder and into a sign where a 62-year-old man was working the sign and was struck by the truck, according to State Police. 

The BMW also caught fire following the impact with the truck, according to State Police. 

The 62-year-old man was transported to Crozer Hospital for moderate injuries and the driver of the BMW was transported to Riddle Memorial Hospital for minor injuries, according to State Police. The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries. 

There was no word on the condition of the individuals.
