Delco Celebrates the Fourth

Delco commemorates our nation's 237th birthday with a number of events.

Red, white and blue colors embellished faces, clothing, bicycles and much more in Delco on Thursday, July 4.

In Media and Springfield, the towns commemorated the holiday with patriotic parades, encouraging all local residents to come out with their friends and family to join in the celebration.

In Marple-Newtown, residents congregated along West Chester Pike, from St. Albans Circle to the Broomall Fire House, to watch participants and catch handfuls of candy at the parade. Antique cars, fire trucks and floats were just some of the vehicles that joined in the procession. The event occurred between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

In Havertown, residents gathered at multiple locations to celebrate America’s birthday. Events hosted by both Westgate Civic Association and the Paddock Farms Civic Association included decorated bicycles, parades and picnics to wrap up the afternoon.
